I've always found collecting curious and charming though am spare in nature and have never indulged. I do enjoy however, the joyful clutter and happiness this activity generates and I think you have caught that idea perfectly.
Stickup, You are wise to steer clear of collecting. I've done a little myself, not of anything valuable, just related things that held some charm for me. The thrill of the hunt, I think, is the real pleasure in it all. But ultimately, the things become dust collecting anchors at best and obsessions at worst. That said, would you like to come over and see my thatched roof teapot collection? Or maybe the cupboard full of funky little dolls of the world that I got for less than $5 each?
You are SO creative - on so many levels!!! AND, your maxims of the week always make me smile.
ReplyDeleteBonnie,
ReplyDeleteWe aim to please! (Well, actually we don't, but it's super nice when we do.) Thanks so much for the encouragement.
:-)
Can you see the smile on my face?
ReplyDeleteA successful illustration maximum and delicious, I love it.
ReplyDeleteThis one's for you, Belva dear.
ReplyDeleteReminds me of a person, who shall be nameless, with her unique and delightful collection of handmade dolls.
ReplyDeleteÖtli,
ReplyDeleteYes, I see your smile! Big and very pink!
:-)
Leovi,
Thank you! I'm glad you're enjoying the view from the top and liking what you see here.
DCW,
Took me a minute, with that one, I must admit. Glad you're enjoying the view, too.
Shirley,
I wonder who on earth you could be talking about!? You know how they say art imitates life.
