While the card indicates being hung up about certain matters, or feeling stuck in an uncomfortable place in one's life, it also suggests it could be time to take a different viewpoint of one's situation. I painted the clothing all in earth tones to indicate a rather quietly traditional approach to life, but supplied a juicy red apple to symbolize the potential for new knowledge. The brightly coloured umbrella hints at a vibrant new world at hand, just waiting to be opened. Our hung up friend here holds the potential to turn his/her life around. At least that's the way I see it.
Allow me!
Yes! Thanks for rotating! I love it.
ReplyDeleteNice of you to turn this card upside down for us...I love the way the legs are holding on to the bar. Great job!
ReplyDeleteJoyce,
ReplyDeleteGreat to see you here, upside down or right side up!
Blue Sky,
ReplyDeleteGlad you appreciate my efforts. I think I might have strained my back a bit turning the picture around. Think I'll go hang upside down awhile myself!
Take a different viewpoint is necessary to try to understand our world. That's one of the reasons of my interest for your beautiful work888
ReplyDeleteÖtli,
ReplyDeleteThat is so true about needing to accept different viewpoints in order to understand our world and not be stuck in our own limited vision.
I'm glad that you're open to my interpretations of how I see the world.
:-)
He's lovely, the colours work really together......hope you're pleased with it!
ReplyDeleteForest Dream,
ReplyDeleteYes, I'm pretty pleased with him/her...always some imperfection once the thing is complete but so it is with life as well.
That original! The truth is that this letter from a boy I was very impressed. I love your new version.
ReplyDeleteLeovi,
ReplyDeleteI'm so pleased! Thank you.
I'm most impressed with your tarot series - your cards are creative, beautiful and very homogenous in style. I hope you lead the project to completion, it deserves it.
ReplyDeleteWow, I work with the Tarot every day. This card interpretation is great ! Gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteI love your take on the hanged (wo)man- up or down!!
ReplyDeleteNatalie,
ReplyDeleteQuelle belle surprise de te trouver ici! Thanks for the encouragement to continue with the series: it will help me keep my resolve.

That's so cool that you work with the Tarot daily! I did for a couple of years but, sadly, got out of the habit. I hope to pick it up again. I am so flattered that you like my design for the card.
Sharmon,
Thanks for "swinging by" and leaving your kind comment on my Hang-ups Tarot card posting. I guess there's really no right or wrong way to look at this one. Nice to find you "hanging about" my back pages.
:-)
