  2. Am not sure which I like better ... a true dilemma to struggle with if there ever was one... oh dear, now how am I going to drift off to sleep on cherry blossom petal wings while trying to arrive at a conclusion... or perhaps no conclusion is necessary... yes, that's the best solution

  4. BrOwen,
Just be with it: Be as One with the Dilemma and it becomes No Dilemma and No Mind at all as you petal off into Dreamland.

  5. Love the image and words.....bringing the 17th century and present so close.
I'm still laughing about your comment on my blog, has being in the fish tank changed your perception of time and proportion?

Thanks for showing the film clip.

    Happy Easter!

  7. Forest Dream Weaver,
I hadn't thought of it in quite that light, and I do like it...uniting the ancient with the contemporary.

I don't know if it was my prolonged sojourn in the fish tank or something I ate, rather like Alice, that prompted my comment over at your place.

    Happy Easter to you!

  8. sukipoet,
Actually, it was surprsingly chilly in Vancouver for this time of year, but those cherry blossoms just needed a few days of sunshine in order to pop.

I'm glad you enjoyed the video and I hope you gleaned a few dance moves to engage in.

  9. I feel as though I'm watching Black Swan again--the siren/Twyla Tharp dancerblack swan is danger, and the apple blossom white is the unawakened white swan... The life of the chrerry blossom is so short; are we only to exist inside its timeframe? I love what you did to that large, spreading tree in full bloom... on ancient rice paper. Beautiful!

  10. Margaret,
What an apt comparison, the Black Swan vs the White Swan. Isn't it always thus. Why are the "evil" women always the brunettes, I wonder.
It is a treat, indeed, to be able to make art on "ancient rice paper." I love that you describe it as such!

  11. this is so lovely, Lynne! of course you might say i am biased, your pink being about things dear to my heart - but i think i can be objective too :-) and the way you related their fleetingness to the marks of time gone and memory, all united in the idea of Life, with both its fullness and its fragility - is so touching...

  12. Roxana,
I did think of you when I made this. I'm glad you found it. Time and memory...life itself...all so fleeting and tender, and hopefully full, as you say. Hopefully full.
