Maxim of the Week

Omer doffed his hat and eyed the fair May-Belle
but that was as far as his wooing techniques could go.
Maxim:
Faint heart never won fair lady.

(PS. May-Belle's response was to quote the infamous Mae West line,
"Is that a pistol in your pocket or are you just glad to see me?")

  1. At which point Omer stammered out his favorite John Wayne quote: "A man's got to do what a man's got to do". Luckily his second favourite ("I'll see you spread-eagled on a wagon wheel") had temporarily slipped his mind.

  2. How timely - I just watched the live version of Omer last night, in concert at the big church you and saw him at - Oliver Swain and the Big Machine (new band). Looks just like Omer, right down to the shirt, boots and hair.

The taller they are, the harder they fall. Do you think his new look is ironic??

  8. Smarten up May-Belle, that little sawed off runt of a cowboy owns a ranch that covers half of the Prairies.

  11. carmenooch,
I'm pretty sure May-Belle would swoon for Swain! But I also think she'd have to get in line to do so. (That "Take Me Up" tune is great!)
