Maxim of the Week

After picking up after her dog on their walk in the park, Nancy thought of a way to get back at her neighbour for letting his cat use her garden as a litter box.
Maxim:
Good fences make good neighbours.

Ha ha haha! I think if I ever publish these maxims I'll have to include your comments. Too funny.

The bigger they are, the harder they fall! But that's a maxim for another day.

    1. Suki,
Could turn out to be one of those situations where one says, "Well, it seemed a good idea at the time."

    1. Johanna,
Letting her dog loose in the neighbour's garden would be too obvious; our friend Nancy is much more devious.

  5. I love Nancy's devious and conniving facial expression; compare that to the total look of innocence on her accomplice...

Nancy says, "Heh heh heh." Her companion's only comment is an affable "woof."
And I say that you are an astute observer.

  6. Both cat and dog are of course completely innocent, and as cats seldom see fences as obstacles, this could be a long drawn out war!!!

    1. Ruby,
The neighbours may end up fighting like cats and dogs while the actual cats and dogs merrily go about their "business."

    1. ötli,
A friend of mine actually set traps for his neighbours' cat when it came into his garden, called the SPCA to pick up the trapped pet, and then the neighbours had to pay to get the cat from the SPCA. The neighbours eventually moved away.
