into this
which means filling in the missing areas with pixels.
Yes, it's a slightly tedious, rather painstaking job--right up my alley!

Apart from that, I got distracted for a few hours fiddling (pardon the pun) with a photo I'd taken in Montreal recently. It's always the poorly lit, out of focus pictures that I'm drawn to tinkering with.
What do you think of this very soft focus effect?

Anyway, back to pushing pixels into corners.
See you Sunday for the maxim!
Nice to have a showing opportunity in a local gallery...the piece is charming!
ReplyDeleteI like the soft focus of your photograph. You seem busy to me!
May C stay softly focused.
ReplyDeleteHappy to hear that your view of the Maritimes may travel.
About those new glasses you promised yourself.
ReplyDeletelove the fiddler. and congrats on having a place who loves your work. i adore soft focus. be well, suki
ReplyDeleteBlue Sky,
ReplyDeleteYes, busy! And, truth to tell, I'm enjoying it--being focused and "getting the job done." Dealing with things put off for far too long. Good to hear a positve vote for the soft focus picture ; hard to tell what works when one is so close to a piece of work (hence the blurry eyes?)
:-)
DCW,
ReplyDeleteI may be biased but I think c always looks good.
:-)
In true Maritimes fashion, my art work is only "going down the road."
Marginalia,
ReplyDeleteSorry, I couldn't read your comment. I need new glasses.
sukipoet,
ReplyDeleteIt is good to be wanted! Or at least to have one's art work wanted.
Thanks for the support for the soft focus approach. I hesitated to post the photo so I'm pleased to have positive feedback.
I hope you're enjoying some summery feelings.
That is so awesome! I can see why they would want to replicate them if this is an example. Great colors and so lively. This example has a wonderful sense of depth! I know it is a pain to have to square the image, but just think how much harder it would be without the computer!
ReplyDeleteStickup,
ReplyDeleteExactly...imagine the alternative--repainting them all on rectangular canvases. Ugh! It's taken me about a decade to get skills adequate enough to push the pixels around.
The fiddler is a lovely fun image..... and saleable too I think!
ReplyDeletenothing as lovely as ms. c, blurry or pinpoint clear.
ReplyDeleteForest Dream,
ReplyDeleteHe's one of my personal favourites. You're right about saleability--the original painting got sold years ago and I don't know where it lives now.
carmenooch,
ReplyDeleteproud mum says "thanks!" to proud aunty!
:-)
xo
Beautiful painting with beautiful colors. The effect of the photo is beautiful, like a pastel drawing.
ReplyDeleteLeovi,
ReplyDeleteThanks so much. I like the idea that the photo looks like a pastel drawing!
