Reindeer Games

Playing in Sketchbook Express on my tablet. Nice little morning exercise, though this little composition took two mornings.

    1. I'm so very glad you like this, Deann. My own sister said it evoked her gag reflex! LOL! I certainly had fun creating this unusual person.

  2. can you do this on your tablet??? how? what kind an application do you use? mine is android so perhaps it is different...

there it is again, that famous expression on her face, i saw it in other portraits of yours as well... i am mesmerized: i kind quite pinpoint it, such a subtle mixture of sadness, melancholy, mystery. kindness, resignation, softness, a sparkle of humour, if only allowed to express itself... and i could go on and on... it is truly extraordinary!

    1. Yes, I did this entirely on my tablet, and posted it from there as well. I have an Asus Memo Pad, which is an Android. The app I used is called Sketchbook Express, and it's free in the Googleplay "store" online. I use a stylus rather than my finger, but it's still like drawing with the eraser end of a pencil...a little tricky to make fine, detailed lines. Another more complex drawing/painting app you might like to investigate is called Art Flow, though it proved a bit too much for me (as yet) so I uninstalled it. I'm really enjoying Sketchbook Express.

I am so flattered and pleased by what you say about my characters' expressions. I recently found a picture of myself in my twenties and I had a very similar look on my face! Perhaps these drawings are all self-portraits...although, I guess that is what all art really is. Basically, I don't do cute. Or maybe I'm just not able to. ;-)

    1. So happy that you find humour and dreaminess in this unusual character! Some people are a little bit freaked out by her! :-)

  4. thanks for your comment Lynne. I have been unable to log on to my blog for awhile but finally figured it out. I agree, your sketch is dreamy. You are far advanced in the world of "devices" compared to myself. Sigh. Maybe I'll catch up some day.

    1. Glad to see you back in Blogland, Suki. I must admit that I have been largely absent myself, with no real excuse. My new "device" is inspiring me to stretch my wings a bit, which is fun. I feel that little spark of creativity burning once again. I think you have all the devices you need, judging by the wonderful poems you create.
