Does the one caged wait and watch for the door to be left open? If that happens is the opportunity for escape taken or is there a return to hiding? I would like to see the changes in the panel if the first option were chosen.
There is a return to hiding, to the ingrained comfort and false sense of security...but each little sortie and exploration of the world beyond the open cage door is a reminder of the wild heart, a calling to return to her true nature...a little practice run as it were...until one day she returns no more...
Interesting image and colours.....I wouldn't want to mess with this one, tho' she does look a bit fearful (as any caged wild thing would) and enigmatic.
Hmmmm..."more please"?...cannot build to suit! Alas. It happens when it happens...when it has to come out...takes me by surprise...grabs hold of me and I have to follow instinctively, fearful yet trusting...
I am so pleased that this strikes a chord with you. This type of expressionistic art comes out and I don't really know what to "think" of it once it's done so it's extremely interesting to me to hear how it affects someone else.
Yes, contained but ready to break out! Glad you feel the aliveness of it. You say "circling"...I hadn't thought of that but it speaks to another element of this being's psyche which has been "going round in circles." Definitely time to break free of the ingrained patterns and reclaim the "aliveness" of being.
I Love it! I know the feeling! Snarky and barky. lol :) Only hiding - so true! I have become the Cranky Contemplative! lol I *love* the expressiveness in your painting! And, as you commented above, it was so spontaneous... Breaking free! So glad you directed me here!
I'm so glad that you relate to this painting! I had a feeling you would. Are you going to change the name of your blog now to The Cranky Contemplative? Sounds like it would also be a good title for a best-selling self-help book.
wow! snarky suits you. so much to study with this piece- as usual you make me want to paint. love the words as well...
ReplyDeleteHeh heh! Yeah, I'm good at snarky (it's my dirty little secret).

Very grandiose expressive painting, I love it most!
ReplyDeleteI am delighted to hear this from you! It came out very quickly in an intense session of painting, quite spontaneously.
DeleteWild but soft and beautiful.
ReplyDeleteLike the feminine spirit...

Her most dangerous aspect, as you have wisely perceived, is the enigmatic quality of her being.
DeleteWOooooWwww... Loving this... oh yeah.. suits you. very alive. More please.

So much moving around, circling...snarky indeed! I like the way the image is enclosed but who knows....there could be a breakout?! Yes, very alive!
