Maxim of the Week

Li Chang was certain that he would eventually master spinning his splendid mustache without using his hands if he concentrated on one side of his face at a time.
Maxim:
Divide and conquer.

    1. Bonnie,
I've long held the belief that if we could actually get into another's mind and experience the world through their perceptions, it would feel like utter madness!

  3. Gentle Li, dear Mr. Chang,
Looked down where his whiskers sprang.
He thought it showed a noble soul
To make them twirl and whirl and scroll
And do it with remote control

Greetings from snowy Montreal where I am ensconced thanks to Air Canada's reluctance to fly in zero visibility. Lucky I know a good gnocchi cook in town.

    1. MB,
Greetings backatcha from snowblown you-know-where! We weren't so lucky as to dine on gnocchi last night but were grateful for bowls of hot turkey soup cooked up on an antique campstove, slurped up by candlelight, in a house heated solely by the woodstove in the basement. Fortunately, the power outage was only a few hours, though the storm is still blowing today.

I like the concept you suggest of the mind as a form of "remote control."

Good luck getting back to what some consider "God's country."

  5. Judging from his expression,he seems to be putting a great deal of effort into this exercise. Maybe he's practicing for a talent show!

I do like his choice of coat colour!

    1. Ruby,
Maybe it's an arcane form of martial arts or meditation that we haven't heard of as yet in the western world. At the very least, yes, a turn for a talent show or a party trick. Maybe he'll try tickling pretty young women with his 'stache if he doesn't win them over with his purple coat.

It could be...but I don't think that's really a maxim! I'm all about authenticity, you know!
