Maxim of the Week #253

Babysitting his infant son for the first time, it quickly became evident to Craig that he was going to have to tackle a diaper change sooner rather than later.
Maxim:
When nature calls, you answer.

    1. This brings back hilarious memories of my husband's adventures with this task!! Neither one of us had ever changed a baby's diaper...at age 40 (when I had my first and only child) the nurse thought I was crazy when I told her she needed to show me how to do it ;) As always, your Maxims make my morning!!

    2. Danielle,
I can't remember how I "mastered" the fine art of changing a diaper. I do remember watching my mother change my siblings' diapers, which were cloth and involved frighteningly large pins. By the time I had my own one and only daughter,at age 33, I was very grateful for Pampers. Glad to have stirred mirthful memories for you!

    1. Diva,
The drawing comes first, the story second, but it's not always easy to find the maxim to fit as snug as a well-fastened diaper.

    1. Lorik,
These little cartoons are pretty much the only sort of drawing I do anymore. Glad you like it. They're made from scribbles I do with my eyes closed, then turn them into a person, think of a story, find a maxim to fit. The painting of them is the most fun.

Yes, definitely part of the Dad territory these days. Was grateful for the assistance provided, back in the day, myself.

    1. Ruby,
I think you`re absolutely right. Both Craig and the baby are hoping Mum arrives home within the next few minutes.

    1. Johanna,
That's funny about your boys! I can just imagine the scene. I had a girl, so didn't have to deal with the fountain phenomenon.
