Maxim of the Week

Wanda often relieved the monotony of her job as chamber maid by trying on her employer's jewellery and furs while the lady was out; until she got caught.
Maxim:
You've made your bed, now lie in it.

  1. Wearing the ware is not like stealing the stole. Cut the poor lady some slack.

  2. DCW,
Wanda drew the line at trying on the madame's slacks, no matter how well cut they were!

    WV: unner
Wanda shoulda hid unner the bed when she heard her lady's footsteps mounting the stairs.

  3. I agree with DCW and a girl's gotta dream big! She makes the bed for other's to lie in so it's only fair she gets a good dream for her trouble :-)

  4. Stickup,
I feel that Wanda's dreams (and experiences while the lady of the house was out) led her on to starting her own business as a fashion designer/advisor to the stars. "Dream a little dream for me."

    WV: pestion
A pesky question that pesters one.

  5. I absolutely LOVE the weekly maxims- just too funny. You can't really blame Wanda, though, can you? :)

  6. Sharmon,
Oh, I'm so happy to hear that there's another maxim fan out there. They have a bit of a dark humour about them a lot of the time. But I'm definitely laughing with my protagonists, not at them!
I think if I was in Wanda's shoes, I might be trying on the lady of the manor's Manolos as well.
