Words to Live By

I made my pilgrimmage to my own Mecca, Opus Framing and Art Supplies store. Even though I live 4,000 miles away on the other coast from here, I order my art supplies from Opus. But seeing as I'm here, I stopped by to pick up a few tubes of acrylics. This was the sign they had posted on their outside notice board. (Mr. Dress-up was a Canadian children's program TV host that my little sister and then my own daughter used to watch as tots). I think it's pretty good advice.

  1. gave me a good chuckle.

  2. Oh, I love art supply shops! I used to be a pre-K teacher, and that truly is the best advice: "Put the tops back on your markers." A wise man. LOVE xxox

  3. Sukipoet: I'm glad you got a chuckle out of it as well. I burst out laughing, standing on the sidewalk, when I read it.

  4. Margaret: Yeah, art supply stores. They have to follow me around with a mop to wipe up the drool when I go in there. Would you believe that there is only one tiny, inconveniently located art shop back where I live in the east?! Kid in a candy shop syndrome when I come out here.

  5. Good advice! I'm guilty of leaving the tops off the markers and then being so surprised at dry markers! I'm glad to be here...I came over from Suki's site.

  6. Hi Mary Ann,
    I'm happy you stopped by.
I'm not too bad about recapping pens but I hate it when I do and then find one dead (pen! not something else dead, though I'd hate that even more) a few days later. My bad habit is to put the wrong cap on the paint tube and get black mixed with white or some such.

I hope you'll stop by again. I'm away from my studio for awhile so not making art lately--but will be back soon.
