Weekendings
I added another photo transfer to this composition as I felt that something was missing. It's now ready to be glued to the canvas and then paint and texture added to it...but will I be ready to tackle this next weekend? Somehow applying paint requires a lot more commitment, energy and...I dunno--being "in the zone." Maybe I'll just go on assembling for awhile.
This is where it lives for now, with the rest of its slowly growing family, 5 of which are still just pinned together, awaiting my attention. ("Pick me, pick me!")

Is that a...
"Is that a pistol in your pocket or are you just happy to see me?"
Every time I knit a thumb pocket I'm reminded of that infamous line delivered by Mae West to Cary Grant.

Textures of Calabria

This is an on-going series (what in my life is not?) using photo transfers of pictures from our trip to Calabria and pretty much random pieces of fabric that I've accumulated for one reason or another (see obsessive/compulsive) over the years. Yes, years! I'm pretty sure that paint is going to be involved somewhere along the line as the series unfolds (pardon the pun--fabric...unfold...get it?).

Bits and Pieces

Here are samples of small pieces I'm stitching by hand, for some reason unknown to myself. Just another of those obsessive/compulsive type things I guess.

Leave your hat on

Ta-dah! As we say in the Maritimes, "Roll up the brrrrrrim!" Unfortunately, the brim hides all the juicy, acid-tripping colours--but it's like keeping a secret under my hat.
